When using Zephr as an Identity Management platform, there are few areas more important than your Users section.

The Zephr Users section is where you find details on all of your registered users. It shows whether your users are active or inactive, and lets you add, edit, and delete users, reset passwords, deliver login links, and alter user grants.

This guide tells you everything you need to know about how to make the most out of this section, including:

Viewing Your User List

Navigate to the Identity Module within your Zephr Admin Console, then click Users.

At the top of the screen, you’ll see information on your total number of users, your new users in the last 7 days, and your number of inactive users.

Zephr User Information

Your Users page also displays a list of registered users, ordered by the date the user was created in Zephr.

You can search for someone specific by entering their name or email address in the search box.

Adding a User

Users can be added to Zephr in a number of ways – via API, by a user signing up via a Zephr Registration Form, or via a manual entry into the Zephr Admin Console. To add a user manually, take the following steps:

Navigate to the Identity Module within your Zephr Admin Console, then click Users.

Beneath the title Your Users, click the Add New User button.

Add New User Button

Complete the fields in the form that displays. The fields you see correspond to the User Attributes you have created. Take a look at our User Attributes guide if you haven’t set this up yet.

Email Address is a key identifier for Zephr, so this will always be at the top of the list, and you won’t need to add it as a User Attribute.

When you’ve filled out the relevant fields, click Save.

Once the user has been created, you will be able to add or edit their product grants.

Viewing and Editing a User’s Profile

From time to time, you will want to look at or edit a user’s profile manually. To do this, navigate to the Identity Module within the Zephr Admin Console, then click Users. Locate the User within the list. If you have a large number of users, use the search bar to search by name or email address, and click enter.

When your search results return, locate the user’s profile and click on the user’s name. This will load their profile page.

Key Identifiers

Underneath the User Details title, you will see the time and date this user registered on, along with their Zephr Tracking ID. Below this, you will see the user’s key identifier – usually their Email Address.

Beneath this you will find the user’s Sessions – a table which details the Site, Date & Time, Browser, Device, and City a user is logged in on/from. You will also see the option to delete a user’s session, which will log them out of the relevant site.

The User Segments section allows you to view which segments a user has been added to. Find out more about this feature in our User Segments guide.

User Actions

There are a series of User Actions available within each user’s profile. These can be found by clicking the User Actions button, next to the User Details title.

Reset Password

Sends a Password Reset link to the user, via email.

Change Email Address

Opens a modal for you to input a new email address for the user. Once added, click Change Email Address.

Deliver Verification Link

Selecting this option allows you to deliver a verification link to users in two ways.

If you have more than one site set up, you must first select a site you would like to send the email from. Do this by clicking the ‘Select an Option’ dropdown and picking one of your Sites.

You may then choose between a ‘Send Verification Link To Email’ option or a ‘Generate Link’ option.

The ‘Send Verification Link To Email’ option will email a user a link to click in order to verify their email address and create a session.

The ‘Generate Link’ option can be used when an end-user is unable to receive their verification link via email – for example, if the email is blocked by a firewall. Clicking this button will generate a one-off link for user verification, which you can then click on to copy to your clipboard.

Once copied, send this to your user for them to click. Note: be careful not to open this link yourself, as the token in the link is for one use only.

When complete, click Back.

Delete User

Deletes a user from your Zephr user store. This action cannot be undone.
